To bring tales of every day heroes and folks who inspire, encourage, nourish and heal you, to the forefront. People’s Playback began in 2018 when 4 members of Playback Troupes from across the country all moved to Los Angeles and found each other. We came from different backgrounds and playback experience levels, spanned an age range from 20’s to 60’s and just knew LA needed a Playback presence and we wanted to seed a company that looked like LA. It grew! People’s Playback was born and we began a year long adventure offering playback pop-ups in a different neighborhood of LA every month. Teaching the forms and building community and interest. Today, we live with many intersectional identities reflective of the communities in which we live and shared the art of Playback in that first year. Our company members bring their own experiences of being youth, elders, LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and/or disabled to support in capturing the essence of the stories we are told and our audiences hold. The company is evergreen, we remain open to adding a new diversity of members with unique perspectives every day. Our company continues to grow and change with the world we live in and embrace and we are proud to perform Playback for the People. Performers: Sarah, Zeljka, Tessa, Mary, LaTianna, Oscar, Kristy, Amaris, Rachel, Kristy
