It takes strength to be yourself and to build community. It takes strength to right wrongs and claim your voice. It takes strength to not know and ask for help. It takes strength to stand back and support others to find their strength. When does our strength rise? When do we witness the rising strength of others? How do we nurture the Rising Strength of all members of our community? Come tell your stories of Rising Strength in community with the Thunder and the Heartsparkle Players.
In addition to the PNA Playback in Community Festival, this show is also a part of the PT RESPONDS: PEACE PLEASE Playback Theatre Festival of Solidarity throughout March 2022.
This show is part of the online Playback North America Conference & Performance Festival: Playback in Community- Reaching Towards the Futures We Want. It will include over 20 conference sessions and 8 performances, hosted & performed by PNA members. The full Performance Festival runs 3/11/22 – 3/13/22.
The Thunders and the Heartsparkle Players have been collaborating for 23 years in Olympia, Washington to bring inclusive Playback Theatre to young people and adults. We have performed and held workshops at public schools, at conferences with/by and for people with developmental disabilities, for local advocacy and arts organizations and at public performances. Being online has allowed us to invite members of our international community to join us. We welcome Sheila Donio from Brazil to this performance!
