Teaching library – Playback on Zoom

This library was created in 2020, when the Covid-19 pandemic pushed many Playback companies around the world into experimenting with Playback on Zoom.

Even if you plan to perform only in person, these clips can give a useful introduction to several different Playback “forms”.  Please keep in mind that far more important than learning forms is practicing the skills of strong empathetic listening, distilling the story to its essence, creating a safe and strong ritual container, and more.  We encourage you to get in-person training at a Playback School or from an experienced Playback performer.

These launching examples are mostly from True Story Theater (Boston).   We would love to include examples from other companies.  Please send them to Connect@PlaybackNorthAmerica.com.
